High mineral final coat for the exterior. Formulated to form a quick setting eggshell finish to throw off water. Hempire External Render maintains breathability while protecting insulating layers from water ingress.
Ready to use factory prepared hemp fibre re-enforced fat lime external render with mineral aggregates. The material has good coverage, anti-splash and bonding characteristics.
The material is suitable as a finish coat over Hempire Scratch Coat on external surfaces and on Hempire Limecrete.
Milled and finely screened whole hemp, high calcium lime, mineral aggregates and water supplied as a pre-formulated paste which requires agitation before use.
Must be used as part of the Hempire External Render System. See External Render System sheet. A solid light weight fibre re-enforced material combines masonry and organic qualities. The material has good breathable, flexible and water repelling qualities.

The product undergoes an in-house monitoring, using a quality management system which conforms to current international standards.
Applied manually using steel plastering trowel. Spray gun can be used but superior finish achieved manually. Use only clean water without admixtures.
Use an electric hand mixer and mix thoroughly before application.
Can be applied at thicknesses of 3-8 mm.
Use steel float for fine finish.
Use wooden float for a textured finish.
Externally: Avoid work below 5 degrees centigrade. If winter work is essential, close in work area by erecting scaffold, membrane, and thermostatically triggered heating to maintain temp above 5 degrees centigrade. During hot dry weather use water liberally on substrates and finished plaster to prevent crazing and re-work with wooden float. When plastering on breathable boards, take extra care to avoid board becoming saturated prior to application.
As per External Render System sheet apply 3 coats of lime wash see Hempire Slaked Lime Putty sheet.
Designed to be applied as finish to Hempire Scratch Coat. Also suitable for a wide range of substrates. Background to be stable and dust free. Highly absorbent surfaces to be dampened beforehand.
Use bell cast at base and drip-line above openings.
High humidity and non-absorbent substrates will increase setting time.
Plaster benefits from working and compression with wooden/steel float.
Lime is a caustic material with abrasive miProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 ral compProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 ents: take care to protect finished surface from lime staining and scratching by covering and/or cleaning as work progresses.
In renovation work mineral staining may sometimes occur. Consult a painting expert to achieve a breathable finish.
In renovation work, strip non-breathable renders from wall, rake out non breathable pointing provide adequate drainage around building and ensure breathable floor is installed to avoid forced migration of rising damp in walls. Where adequate steps have been taken allow time for walls to gradually dry out.
Artisan finish can be achieved by hand see website.
Do not not use in damp basements.
Do not use within 150 mm of outside ground level.
